As a thought experiment, I asked ChatGPT to give me a list of five fake artist names with five fake album titles within five different genres. Based on whatever came out, I was going to design album covers with photography I could find and use or that I’ve taken myself. The genres I was given: Metalcore, Shoegaze, Experimental Rap, and Post-Punk Revival. Can you guess which is which?

And for the (non-AI) record, Pathetic Bed Setup and the album title “A Broken Version of What You’re Holding” was NOT generated by AI, but I had to fit it somewhere. That was the brainchild of Jono Crefeld (incredible filmmaker, second half of eek.) and me.
