Foraged - Rewild Your Appetite.

We had went foraging all over the USA, now it was time to show what to do with these wild ingredients.

JB Douglas was not only the face of the Foraged Meet Your Forager series, but he’s also a chef that uses wild, foraged ingredients to make unbelievable dishes. So I knew we had to do recipe videos to pair with our Meet Your Forager video series. Now that we picked things from the wild, people would want to know what they could make. So we did just that. Once again I grabbed Beau Hauser and we went on to make three recipe videos that all correlated with their own Meet Your Forager story.

JB has such a great personality and I wanted to make sure that came through. He’s so well-educated in what he does, but he’s also super funny and goes off on tangents. I wanted it to feel like the viewer was in the room with us and you could see what he is like first-hand.

All post-production done by me.

Try maitake with me.

Not having had much maitake experience, this was a fun one to make. Because this one was fried and we only had so much maitake, we were in the pressure cooker. We had basically one chance to get it all right—and I think we did.

Can’t oversell chanterelle.

This tart is great to bring to a party. This recipe was prepped almost exclusively beforehand, so when doing this video, we mainly had to show only the assembly of it. This was supposed to be the shortest of the three, but JB was just too funny.

Hurry, I want this curry.

Using Chicken of the Woods mushrooms, JB made a beautiful coconut curry. Not much more to say about it other than it was another really fun video to make and show off.
