Comptrain.

Comptrain is a CrossFit training app that is designed and built by some of the world’s best coaches.

Comptrain is serious business. The training is difficult, the vibe is gruff, but once you meet the athletes and the coaches, you realize they’re fun and dynamic just like everyone else. But when you’re only watching professional athletes and professional coaches, it’s easy to forget that they’re normal people. The goal for this series was to show exactly that—they’re normal, fun people.

Writing, directing, and editing was done by me. Filming done by Beau Claude.

Rest Days

I didn’t realize until after I wrote these that they were akin to “This is Sports Center.” Then after watching that series, I will admit these are similar to that series—which I’m proud of. I wrote these independent of that series and people in the CrossFit community seemed to like them. The first one was to soften and poke fun at Ben Bergeron. And, for whatever reason, I was in this one.

Cole is in town.

People really seemed to like the softening of Ben Bergeron, so when Cole Sager was in town (in the CrossFit community known as a very serious, but kind athlete—it was the perfect chance to show the funny side of him. Also, Chandler Smith (a crowd favorite athlete) is intensely funny and I wanted to get to show that too.

Speaking of Cole.

Fortis.

It wasn’t always fun and games when working with the athletes. Cole Sager had went through some hardships during a CrossFit season and I wanted to tell that story. One word came to mind when making this: “Strong.”

So I named it as such.

Filmed by Dylan Priest. Edited, directed, footage sourcing by me.
